A non-profit organization, Valencia Shelter Services (VSS), was in need of a brand overhaul and reached out to Vienna Creative for assistance. We took on this project pro-bono as we were intrigued by the work they do for the community. Our mission was to create a sense of comfort and protection with the brand. The logo development started with the icon that represents the “hole in your heart” that is now sheltered by VSS – starting on that path to healing. After we refreshed the logo, we created business cards for employees and collateral to be used in a new marketing campaign to gain awareness and donors.
When I started at VSS in 2012, I knew we needed a new brand design. Our existing logo was extremely outdated. However, being a social service non-profit, there is never any money in the budget for this kind of project. I was introduced to Matt and he was gracious, understanding, and committed. He spent hours listening to us talk about our work, who we serve, who our donors are to really gain knowledge and understanding about our organization. Matt was thoughtful in his approach and guided us through the process. For the first time in 25 years, VSS has a new brand that speaks to not only where we've been but where we are going. I would work with Vienna Creative over and over again!"
